Today I watched The White Helmets. It is a 2016 British short documentary film directed by Orlando von Einsiedel and produced by Joanna Natasegara. It won the Best Documentary (Short Subject) at the 89th Academy Awards.
This documentary begins with a scene full of rubble and explosion, and then there are a few people who wear white helmets to save the refugees. After a few words of a scene edit, the shot comes to Southern Turkey, where the “white helmets” are being trained.
What gives me deep impression is the scene in which there is a bird flying in the sky and there is a “white helmet”looking up at it. I think there must be some desire for freedom, peace and security in the mind of the “white helmet” when he looks at the flying bird.
What’s more, the plot of the Miracle babyalso makes me deeply moved. The baby's grow-up represents the dream of peace and happiness. We all wish that the baby can grow up safely.
“To save a life is to save all of humanity.”Yes, of course. In a word, the cherish of life and the Humanitarian spirit in this documentary film is great.
