Flea: Well it's funny you know, how when you're presented with different circumstances in life, you don't know how you gonna feel until the circumstances present themselves. I ever think you know, before John left, before John left, that there was… that could happen, that he would leave. Because things were kind of feeling dysfunctional, the communication, the ease of togetherness, I felt something's coming I don't know things were not flowing in an easy, together, unified way, even though I thought our art was at a very high level, you know. But I thought to myself, I remember thinking at my meditated times that if John left, I wouldn't want to do it anymore, it would be ridiculous to do without him. But when he came to me and said “I'm done, I'm not doing it anymore”, my first thought in my brain cerebrally says there's no way we could do it anymore. But after he said it, in my gut, I felt something else which soon came into my thought you know, especially after the little time I was away, I was like, I really love this band, I love Anthony so much. You know, in ways that I don't even need something to define. But I knew that the sense of family and stuff that we have, all of us and Chad too, it's just our thing that we started doing when we're kids, I'm just grateful. We don't need to do it, we don't have to do it like life gives us all many other opportunities, but it's like, we love it.
