莱克斯·卢瑟和他的女性哲学世界观

莱克斯·卢瑟在BVS电影里对待女性的态度一直是我非常感兴趣的视角。即使这些女性角色中有那么几位其实对他而言是比较特别的， 但总的来说，他看待影片里大多数的女性都带有一种病态的哲学世界观。

他爱慕着女性又同样的对女性抱有强烈的恨意。我想这种复杂的爱恨交织的情结来自于他自己的母亲，即使我们没有在BVS的电影里实际的看到对莱克斯母亲的任何表述，但就推理而言，我们可以认定，在莱克斯幼年时代饱受父亲虐待的时候，她不是早已经不在人世，就是冷眼旁观或者没有、无法做任何事情来保护自己的儿子。所以对于母亲留给他的这个印象，会给莱克斯潜意识的有看轻女性的偏见，他觉得女性大多数而言是非常软弱（或者脆弱的），可以轻易被操控，甚至用他自己的话说，是“目光短浅，思想渺小” （have “little minds”.）的。

 

但他也并非因此而产生完全拒绝和疏离女性的态度，在电影里我们能看到他和他的助手Mercy的私人关系是亲密的，还记得在他讲述“翡翠之城……如此美丽”那句台词的时候，Mercy回给他的嫣然一笑吗？她明显认为莱克斯的这句话是对她的一种恭维，这多多少少也揭示了这两个人在某种程度上是有私人和暧昧关系的。而这就让后来在莱克斯决定连她也除掉的时候，Mercy的死不仅仅再是一个象征的手法，隐喻了“从此莱克斯再也没有任何慈悲之心（Mercy的英文原意）”，和情节上需要将她灭口这两个理由。莱克斯还有一个更加私人和更加符合其哲学和世界观的理由在其中。

这个原因就在于他不想给自己留下任何弱点。在他的逻辑当中，所有男人的那位“特别的女士”（无论是他的爱人，母亲，姐妹）对于这个男人来讲都是他们致命的弱点（顺便，超人直接把“特别的女士”理解是代指lois，也证明了DCEU的超人在和母亲的关系上完全不妈宝）。而他是从超人身上领悟到这一点，更直接将其利用成为了制约超人，逼迫超人和蝙蝠侠进行“历史上最伟大的角斗士之战”的筹码。所以在他登上莱克斯大厦的顶楼和超人正面对峙之前，他除掉了Mercy，他杀死了这个也许这个世界上他还唯一在乎的一个人，来确保自己对抗超人的时候是“毫无弱点”的。他甚至认为他已经因此而胜了超人一筹，以至于这一段情节里，他的情绪上更加的兴奋（由于演员的出色，这种亢奋我们甚至是肉眼可见的），也从未有过的自信满满。

莱克斯·卢瑟看着那个从天而降仿佛全知全能的天神（All powerful），却在情感上和两个无力可施“证明不了任何事”或“像个女巫”一样的女性，建立了无法割舍羁绊的时候，莱克斯觉得他要赢了。即使他不能拥有超人那样的能力，但那一刻他感觉到控制一切的力量又回到了他的手中，他再也不需要他那个无能为力或早已经死透了的妈咪来拯救他了。

但问题在于，他对于女性的观感是片面和错误的。而BVS影片中也一直、多次的在证明着他对女性的这一误读。但无论怎样对 莱克斯·卢瑟而言，这种证明“他错了”的事情，也是他一直不肯承认甚至会激怒他的。

这样的第一个例子，来自于对莱克斯而言有点母亲样感觉的Finch参议员。无论这位参议员身上哪一点（相似的年纪，口音，甚至发色）让她使得莱克斯想到了自己的母亲已经不重要了，重要的是他的确在态度上对Finch议员非常的与众不同——他没有完全的看轻她，他对她近似无礼的亲昵和甚至有点沉溺于她的感觉和莱克斯对其他的女性另外有一种不同。但是，当Finch议员当着莱克斯的面戳破了他也想操控她的真面目的时候，他就发飙了。莱克斯完全不能忍受从一个女性的嘴里听到“不”这个字，即使是一个他为其大摆排场秀领地，有点“母亲替代品”样的人物也不可以。

 

而在莱克斯“绑架玛莎计划”不知道是过程当中还是在准备中，他给自己选了一个“纪战利品”。莱克斯一直在自己的“战役”里收集着战利品，就好像他从死去的父亲那里拿来的巨型莱克斯集团霓虹标志一样(导演扎克 · 施耐德在BVS的设定集当中曾对道具设计师说，这个霓虹的莱克斯集团老标志是莱克斯从父亲那里拿来的“战利品”，后来被莱克斯装饰

在了新大厦的大堂里面。而我个人认为这也是暗示了，莱克斯本人就是杀死他父亲的凶手。）。但这一次，他选择的战利品是一个计时器（不知道是从玛莎家里的厨房，还是她工作的餐馆），而这个战利品（计时器，哦哦……太象征意义了，再链接Doomsday ？再想想 Watchmen ？），即将为他的最后胜利的凯旋之歌倒数计时。

 

但他又错了。一直以来在他的偏见的眼光里，他只看到了女性的脆弱和无助，他认为女性可以操纵、可以收买。可以在没有利用价值和不需要的时候被丢弃也毫无还手之力，但从来拒绝也看不到她们聪慧、勇敢、坚强和强大的一面。他更是从未想过，一个人最大的弱点（救救玛莎！）亦能变为支持他最大的力量源泉！

直到最后，他恐怕也不能明白自己输掉这场棋局的原因……但是，我们已经知道，我们已经明白。我们知道莱克斯输在了他的自负，输在了他精巧诡诈选择出来制约超人的“筹码”，输在了他对人类社会另外一半群体的巨大的冷漠和藐视……他把自己变成了一个比他臆断里邪恶的超人更加不像人类的“外星人”。而最后，他输在了他无法想象的，像路易斯、玛莎这样的女性带给这个世界巨大的影响和力量之下。

Lex Luthor and His Philosophy on Women

How Lex treats women in BVS is always an interesting thing to me. In my opinion, he has a sick general philosophy about women characters in this film. Even though some of those characters actually hold a special place in his twisted worldview.

He loves women yet hates them too. I think this love/hate complex started from Lex’s own mother, who either died or didn’t do anything to protect him from his father’s abuse when he was a child. So he kind of looks down on women and thinks women are generally weak and can be manipulated. In his own word, they have “little minds”.

But he does not reject all women, as he seems to have an intimate relationship with Mercy in the film. That smile Mercy gives him when he says “Emerald City…Beautiful”, is perhaps indicating that she thinks he is complimenting her. That shows they are certainly involved to a certain extent. Apart from the metaphorical “Lex lost his mercy/have no mercy”, Lex seems to have another reason to end her life.

That reason is possible that he doesn’t want to have any weaknesses. He may consider every man’s “special lady” (whether it was a mother or a lover) as a fatal weakness. He sees through Superman and has taken this as his leverage to force “The greatest gladiator match in history”. Lex gets rid of Mercy before he confronts Superman on the roof of Lex Corp’s building, to keep himself safe from this kind of flaw. This is the reason he kills the last person he may actually care about, and he defeats Superman with that “flawless” disposition that made him more confident than ever.

He looks at the alien who seems all powerful but gets emotionally attached to two powerless “Can’t prove anything ”, “Witch like” women. Lex believes he could win, despite having no power like Superman. He believes he has won the moment he feels the sense of control back in his hands and that he doesn’t need his helpless/long dead mommy to save him anymore.

But the problem is, he is wrong about women and has been proven in the wrong about women in BVS multiple times. Nonetheless, he was in denial and got angry.

It starts with the semi-mother figure for him in Senator Finch. Whichever part of her that reminds him of his own mother was not important (it may be something as simple as same age or same hair color); the important thing is that he did not treat her condescendingly like he how he treats other women, he even kind of drawn to her… but the moment she finds out Lex is trying to manipulate her too, she exposed it right in front of him, and Lex can’t take “No” from a woman, not even from his “mother” substitute.

He gets a trophy-to-be from Martha’s kidnapping process. He tends to enjoy getting a trophy from a conquest, like the Big Neon Sign he took from his dead father. And this time he took a timer from Martha’s kitchen (restaurant) and it’s going to countdown his victory.

But he was wrong again, all these time he could only see the weakness and helplssness of women, but never their strength and smarts and bravery. He never considered the possibility that a person’s greatest weakness can also be their greatest strength!

Until the end, he still cannot understand the reason for his failure. but we know. We know Lex lost to his arrogance, in his cunning he underestimated the other half of the human society, he became even more alien than the Superman he had always imagined, and finally, he lost to power, and the effect women brought to this world.

一点备注：我发在Vero的时候一个老外朋友提醒我，Lex的母亲还有一个可能的出身是身份底下，Lex是个私生子，并且他母亲收了钱而从小留远离了他。无论他是否知道真相，都会让他本人对于女性增加更多的“可收买”，“轻视”和“憎恨”。所以列为参考论点之一。

这篇英文原文已经又另外一个Zack的vero联系人（推友和V友都特别喜欢…）推荐给Zack，他看过了也有点赞和夸奖 ……但是我个人感觉他未必百分百赞同我的观点（我感觉他完全赞同的话是会说awesome……当然也可能是我想多），但因为英文版本的注解过少，和有时候我不确定我的表述是不是完全表达了我的观点，还有我的文章立意的基础跟扎克本人的女性崇拜多啥有关，但大概过于依赖这个idea了。但无论如何，我会继续更新我的汤不热的啦……稍后还会继续写双语版本的大小论文给他看，当然不仅仅限于DCEU，他的其他电影或者不是他的电影我也会写的。
