Owen’s Morning Journal--20 Dec. 2021

HI, guys. It’s Monday, new week. I start my morning journal now.

At the weekend, I recorded a vblog about Yuan Shikai (袁世凯)， the last emperor of China. if you have any interest, welcome to watch it. It is used Chinese language. And the website is just as follows:

let me embrace the new week, and make friends with anyone who wants also make friends with me. Remember, anyone, including your colleague, can be your good friend, and also your bad enemy. Don’t belittle and insult anyone at first.

At the weekend pasted, I also watched my favorite TV series “Friends”. And also I learnt a new expression “made a pass at me “. Which means somebody is courting other one. It is said by Phebe to Reachel. The original lines was “ Polo made a pass at me”. 

In China, we often talk a beautiful and charming man or woman as “男神” or “女神”。 But I still can’t find the right express word, phrase and sentence for “男神”and “女神”。 But last day, when I had a browse on my social media, I got a perfect one. Next time, when I meet my “女神”，I can speak in English as “She is so far out of league” or “She is my dream girl/lady”. Cause Chinese language and English language are not completely comparable all the time. Some words in English may not be found in Chinese, and vice versa. Learning English is to learn how English speakers talk, not just translations. As far as I’m concerned, that I should read, listen, write and speak more what native English speakers do.
