Scenelighting techniques
Lighting is a huge and complex subject. There are many different methods to set the scene lighting. This week, I havelearned further on the lighting and gained more.
Here are some basic principles:
Avoid positive plain light, usemore side or back light. As long as the light source is next to or behind thecamera, it is possible to produce flat, non-stereoscopic light.
Use the backlight, kicker lightand background ambient light techniques. It will separate the characters fromthe background and emphasize the actor's image, which could createthree-dimensional images.
Notice the shadows and use themto create contrast, depth, shape, and emotion. Don't be afraid of shadows, somephotographers will say"...... The light which doesn’t open is as importantas the one that has been opened".
The use of lighting andexposure has laid the exposure of the overall tone of the scene. It must takeinto account the reflection coefficient and the light intensity of the scene.
As long as possible, try to polishthe character from the back.In appropriate situation, use alight barrier, cookies board and other means to increase the light texture.
In <Kill Bill Vol.1>, it uses the light that comes from the desk as light source.
